Leslie and Liz reached out to us about running the New York City Marathon this November 2018 to raise money for the foundation. They asked if they could wear Trayvon’s t-shirt to raise awareness of the work we do.

“I agreed to have Leslie and Liz wear the Trayvon Martin shirt during the marathon because the world needs to see all races stand in solidarity against racism and for gun reform. We can’t make change alone. It is everyone’s fight.”

When we all met up in NYC the night before the premiere of Rest in Power, we told Leslie and Liz about The Circle of Mothers, our annual retreat for mothers who have lost their children to gun violence. As it turns out, the retreat falls on the same weekend as the Brooklyn Half Marathon, May 19th.

They asked if they could start fundraising early.

“Trayvon’s death hit us both in profound ways. We want to let his mother—and all mothers who have lost children to gun violence—know that we see them, we support them, and that we are running for them.”

Leslie and Liz want to raise $50,000 by November 2018. They hope to hit $5,000 in May for the Circle of Mothers. Please help them reach this goal. No amount is too small.
